Three Weeks into 2017: A Collection of Thoughts

A belated Happy New Year! 2016 was a wonderful year filled with adventure and craziness — both with old friends and many new ones. Though I’m seemingly always reluctant to leave a good year behind, no truer words than a certain saying “life must go on” have ever been spoken.

Celebrating 4th Blogoversarry

Wow! I started blogging on December 27th, 2012 and back then, who would have thought that I would keep it this long? I know that in terms of quantity, my posts have gone down each year but I’m happy that the posts I do end up publishing on this blog are the ones I’m extremely proud of, the ones that I put heart and soul into writing them — if I were to be poetic.

Many changes have happened to this blog, ranging from name to the content (which reflects my fickle interest btw) BUT I hope I can do better this year in a lot of aspects. Better writing, better graphics, better management, etc. And consistency to be honest. I need it badly here 🙁

Second Semester of Uni // Here I Go!

I’ve told you about my first semester last month and if you’re wondering about my finals, I was able to go through them well! Thank goodness, I got a high GPA and cheers for a better semester this year! I signed up for a small organizing committee — finger-crossed I will be accepted. Currently, I’m still in the middle of my break but classes begin in February 6th so I’m trying to make the most out of the free time I have left. By re-watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and reading SNK theories

Keeping My Hobbies Together In General

I failed my Goodreads challenge last year, which was a let-down cause I always managed to complete them up until last year. This fact made me wonder, how many books should I aim to read this year? A sad question to myself, I know. It didn’t use to be this hard for me to finish a book but I’ve been losing my will to read and review-churning mojo. 2017 hopefully will be the year I gain more balance with the things I love to do. For real. No more bullshits like in the past. Let’s see how I do this year!

I’m also having trouble with following weekly manga or anime. I guess binging is really my way of enjoying a story. Somehow I always end up neglecting a show I’m following, no matter how excited I am. So I’m contemplating how many winter 2017 shows I should try, since I barely finish the ones I started in summer 2016. Nonetheless, there are some shows I’m so hyped to see this year! I shall make a proper post about this in the future ^^

Those are my jumbled thoughts… 2017 here we come! Let’s see what this year brings for all of us 😀

Happy New Year and congrats on getting through your first semester of uni!! I can relate to the loss of reading motivation and what not. It takes a while to adjust to uni + social life + reading + blogging + anime and tv shows.

I never had much of a social life, but the amount I read, blog, and watch anime has significantly dropped since I started uni (the last anime I watched was probably One Punch Man and that was when I was on holidays)

    1. Thanks Bec! <33 You're right, uni comes with more activities than in HS so I'm still trying to figure out the best way to balance everything. I hope I will do a good job next time 😀 My case is definitely the same as yours... I didn't finish a single book last term 🙁

  1. Happy New Year and Happy 4th Blogoversary! I just passed my 3rd but didn’t do anything about it, as I have been skimping out on the blogging as well!

I had a lot of trouble keeping up with anime last season, I haven’t even finished watching Yuri on Ice (It’s not even a true sports anime but I can’t handle the pain) so hopefully this year will be better. I mainly just played video games all of the end of last year to escape reality hahah…..ha…

BUT I LOVE YOUR POSTS so hopefully you will post here and there as usual 🙂

    1. Thank you Val! ^^ Same, I haven’t done anything for my blogoversarry for the past 2 years. I guess it begins to feel ordinary for me as years go by lol. Aaaand I didn’t even watch Yuri on Ice last season even though that anime was HUGE. I saw catalogs for a local con here and the majority of the artists sell YoI merchandises…

And lastly aaaaaah thanks for your kind words there! I hope I can get back to my old rhythm this year.

  2. Ahhh this comment is late T-T meant to get to it sooner but life’s crazy rightn now. Anyway, glad to hear that you’re doing well in uni! Congrats on your GPA, blogoversary, and planning committee 😀 enjoy your break, and here’s hoping that next term goes well!
