[Cover Reveal] The House of Hades by Rick Riordan

Oh my god finally! One of the my most-anticipated, dying-to-read book this year has a cover! Drum rolls please…

The House of Hades
(Heroes of Olympus #4)
by Rick Riordan
Expected Publication: October 8th, 2013 by Hyperion Books
MG – Adventure, Fantasy (Greek Mythology)

Sorry, I won’t share the synopsis cause it contains spoiler for The Mark of Athena!

The cover looks dark and kinda spooky. We can see the Doors of Death peeking and anyway, I love the cover and I’M SO  EXCITED FOR THIS BOOK!!! Sorry for the capitalizations xD I can’t help cause you know, the ending in The Mark of Athena. Okay so I won’t say much or I’ll spoil the entire series.

Any thoughts about the cover, people??

    1. I want to keep the ending as a surprise! 😛 you definitely should check out his books! I didn’t love thr first and second book of PJO as much as the others but I think they’re still worth reading. Book 5 is seriously good. 🙂

  2. I haven’t read this series but I believe Riordan has a nack for Greek mythology, or he just loves writing them. XP I’ve read his book The Lighting Thief but I don’t think I’ll continue it, is this series better than the Percy Jackson series?

    1. I honestly think PJO gets better and better, especially starting book 3 onward. Book 5 is so amazing, the best of the series 😛 PJO and HoO are quite different actually. PJO is in Percy’s POV and written in 1st person but HoO is written in 3rd person and each chapter centers on a particular character (you can tell by the big name in the beginning of the chapters. In the first book there’s no Percy, instead there are new characters. The series gets better and better each book IMO. Um but if I had to pick one, I would choose HoO because we get to know about the other characters and I think there are more actions, especially book 3.

  3. This cover is so dark and gloomy. I would assume Tarturus looked like a series heated underground caves, with molten lava spewing/erupting forth. (Then just imagine pillars of fire, with dimly illuminated tunnels, coupled alongside screams of pain and agony)

Rick seems to be going for more of the eerie haunted cave look to me.

Quick Question: do you know exactly what Percy and Annabeth are doing/wearing/looking wildly at? That little percabeth image has been confusing me for days.

    1. Yep I absolutely agree that it looks dark.

I personally think Rick has made a great choice by making Tartarus looks more like a dark cave cause if it’s full of lava and fire, then it will be too easy for Percy — he has water inside him right? Well, maybe not that easy cause it’s freaking Tartarus, but at least he can defend himself from the fire.

My current guess is probably they’re running away from monsters or anything scary. I think the cover portrays what happens when they just find the Doors of Death (there’s a door right under the book title) which I guess won’t happen near the end of the book. Perhaps that’s why their clothes are dirty… GAH I can’t wait to read the book!!!

  4. I’ve been reading and hearing that Rick said that 3 of the 7 will die ( dont if that is true or what) and that Nico has the lines of the prophecy ” an oath to keep with a final breath” so please can someone tell me if this is true.

    1. Um, where did you get that info about three of the seven will die? I think Rick hasn’t said anything about that and I’m sure Rick would be careful not to give major spoiler about characters’ death in the next installment(s). So yeah, I think it’s not true…

I did heard about “an oath to keep with a final breath” is about Nico cause I read a lot of fans’ predictions. 😛 But we still don’t know about that. Making predictions about what might happen next is fun, but not all things is 100% right.

We can only find out what’s true and what’s not when we finally read House of Hades!! 😀 I do love making predictions, but please don’t take all of them seriously 😛
