Hey everyone! I didn’t get many books this week (or in the past few weeks). Without further ado, here are the books! 🙂

Balzer & Bray (2012)
Rachel Adams has a secret. While the other girls in Baalboden sew dresses and obey their male Protectors, Rachel knows how to survive in the wilderness and deftly wield a sword. When her father, Jared, fails to return from a courier mission and is declared dead, the city’s brutal Commander assigns Rachel a new Protector, her father’s apprentice, Logan – the same boy Rachel declared her love for two years ago, and the same one who handed her heart right back to her. Left with nothing but a fierce belief in her father’s survival, Rachel decides to find him herself. But what awaits her in the Wasteland could destroy her.
Logan McEntire is many things. Orphan. Outcast. Inventor. As apprentice to the city’s top courier, Logan is focused on learning his trade so he can escape the tyranny of Baalboden. But his plan never included being responsible for his mentor’s daughter. Logan is determined to protect her but soon realizes he has more at stake than disappointing Jared.
As Rachel and Logan battle their way through the Wasteland, stalked by a monster that can’t be killed and an army of assassins out for blood, they discover romance, heartbreak, and a truth that will incite a war decades in the making.
I’m sorry if the pic is a bit crappy… Took it with my phone camera. I’ve read mixed reviews for this one and I was a bit surprised to know that it’s a dystopia/post-apocalyptic book when I first read the summary cause the cover screams YA PNR in my opinion. (I like the cover, though.) Anyway, I’m interested in this book and hopefully I can read it before the second book is released next August.

St. Martin’s Griffin (2013)
In this breathtaking debut that reads like Gossip Girl crossed with Twin Peaks, a Queen Bee at a blue-blooded New England prep school stumbles into a murder mystery.
Anne Dowling practically runs her exclusive academy on New York’s Upper East Side—that is, until she accidentally burns part of it down and gets sent to a prestigious boarding school outside of Boston. Determined to make it back to New York, Anne could care less about making friends at the preppy Wheatley School. That is, until her roommate Isabella’s body is found in the woods behind the school.
When everyone else is oddly silent, Anne becomes determined to uncover the truth no matter how many rules she has to break to do it. With the help of Isabella’s twin brother Anthony, and a cute classmate named Brent, Anne discovers that Isabella wasn’t quite the innocent nerdy girl she pretended to be. But someone will do anything to stop Anne’s snooping in this fast-paced, unputdownable read—even if it means framing her for Isabella’s murder.
Thank you St. Martin’s Press and Netgalley for sending me this galley! (Btw, this is my first Netgalley approval! Yay!! After a whole lot of rejections xD)
And I’m in the mood for YA mystery/espionage thanks to Two Lies and a Spy. The review will be up next month closer to its publication date, btw. 🙂 I probably need to check out Gallagher Girls… Any recommendations beside that? 😛
So that ends my post today. Have a nice weekend and feel free to comment or share the links to your STS!
